About the art & Artist
Swilk is the artistic identity of Mumbai-based artist Shweta Wagaralkar, a practice born from instinct, mood, and an urge to translate inner noise into colour. Working primarily with oil pastels, Swilk builds a world where softness and sharpness coexist; a world that feels intimate, emotional and just a little off-centre.
Each piece begins as a mood and an emotion you can’t name yet and grows into a visual language of layered textures, muted tones and unexpected contrasts. Many works explore portraits that look back at you, scenes that ask more questions than they answer, moods that don’t sit neatly in a box.
